Folks in Missoula like to be involved in their community and expect their government to be open and available. When I first joined the City Council I realized that there was no practical way for people to follow the business of the council if they wanted more information than they could get from the paper. During my first few months on council I started a weekly email newsletter and online discussion group for folks who wanted to stay informed. This listserv has been the source of some very valuable and informative discussion over the years. I encourage anyone interested in their city government to subscribe to the list at MissoulaGov.org.
